Call for Papers: Workshop on AI and Semantic Technologies at The Web Conference 2026

Date:

Overview

The 4th International Workshop on AI and Semantic Technologies for Scientific, Technical, and Legal Web is set to take place in conjunction with The Web Conference 2026 in Dubai, UAE. This workshop aims to explore the integration of Semantic Web technologies with AI methodologies, particularly focusing on the enhancement of knowledge representation across various domains. The event is a significant opportunity for researchers and practitioners to share their findings and innovations in this rapidly evolving field.

Background & Relevance

The intersection of Semantic Web technologies and AI is increasingly vital as the volume of domain-specific knowledge on the web continues to grow. By leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs), researchers can develop more effective methods for knowledge graph creation, semantic annotation, and trustworthy AI pipelines. This workshop will address the challenges and opportunities presented by these technologies, fostering discussions on how to improve the reliability and interpretability of web data.

Key Details

  • Workshop Dates: April 13 or 14, 2026
  • Location: Dubai, UAE
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: January 5, 2026
  • Paper Submission Deadline: January 12, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: February 2, 2026

Eligibility & Participation

The workshop welcomes contributions from researchers, practitioners, and students interested in the application of AI and Semantic Web technologies. At least one author from each accepted paper must register for the workshop and present their work in person.

Submission or Application Guidelines

Submissions must be in English and formatted according to the CEURS-WS one-column format. The types of submissions include:
Full Research Papers (10-16 pages): Should detail the state of the art and contributions to the field, including methodology and comparisons with existing literature.
Replicability/Reproducibility Papers (8-10 pages): Focus on repeating prior experiments to analyze methods and their limitations.
Short Papers (6-9 pages): Present significant ongoing work, potentially with narrower scope or weaker empirical support.

All papers must adhere to the specified page limits, including diagrams and references. Accepted papers will be made available on the workshop website.

More Information

This workshop is timely as it addresses the need for robust methodologies that combine symbolic and sub-symbolic approaches in managing web data. The integration of AI technologies with Semantic Web frameworks is crucial for advancing the understanding and usability of scientific, technical, and legal data.

Conclusion

Researchers and practitioners are encouraged to submit their papers and participate in this workshop to contribute to the discourse on AI and Semantic Technologies. This event promises to be an enriching experience for all involved, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field.
